Effect of DMC blend ratio on emission characteristics for diesel engine generator fueled with DMC/diesel blended fuel

چکیده
Energy shortage and environmental problems are two dominant subjects. The diesel engine is well-known for its high thermal efficiency but severe emission problems. For the urgent fossil fuel resources, substantial surrogate fuel, dimethyl carbonate (DMC) attracting attention oxygen content. Its application in engines has won increasing focus. However, it difficult to directly with DMC due low cetane number latent vaporization heat. In this study, DMC/diesel blend 5%, 10%, 15% by volume prepared investigate characteristics. Since combustion process strongly influenced addition of boiling point boosts atomization liquid mixture, emissions hydrocarbons particulate matter significantly reduced addiction especially on high-load conditions. Also, nitrogen oxide slight reduction scope balancing NOx PM exists.

Emission Characteristics of a Diesel Engine fueled with Diesel-biodiesel-JP-4 Blends
The main objective of this research is to study the effects of JP-4-biodiesel-diesel fuel blends and operating parameters on the emission characteristics of a CI engine. The experimental tests were performed on a four-cylinder DI diesel engine. The Mixture-RSM method was used to develop mathematical models based on experimental data. The results showed that with the increase of the biodiesel pr...
متن کاملEffect of EGR on Performance and Emission Characteristics of Natural Gas Fueled Diesel Engine
In diesel engines, it is difficult to reduce both smoke and NOx simultaneously. An experimental study was conducted to determine the performance and exhaust emission characteristics of a commercial single cylinder, natural aspirated, air cooled DI diesel engine. The system was modified to work on either dual fuel or diesel alone. The objective of this work is to investigate the possibility of d...
متن کاملPerformance and Emission Characteristics of Diesel Engine Fueled with Ethanol-Diesel Blends in Different Altitude Regions
In order to investigate the effects ethanol-diesel blends and altitude on the performance and emissions of diesel engine, the comparative experiments were carried out on the bench of turbo-charged diesel engine fueled with pure diesel (as prototype) and ethanol-diesel blends (E10, E15, E20 and E30) under different atmospheric pressures (81 kPa, 90 kPa and 100 kPa). The experimental results indi...
متن کاملPerformance and Emission Characteristics of a Slow Speed Diesel Engine Fueled With Soybean Bio Diesel
Fossil fuels have given us utility and continued their role in a variety of areas, but rapid depletion of these fossil fuels directs the researchers to find alternative fuels for the present energy crisis. In this perspective a Bio-diesel came in to existence which meets the present energy demand and emission norms. Biodiesel is a non–toxic, biodegradable and renewable alternative fuel that can...
متن کاملCombustion Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Diesel Engine Using a Water-Emulsified Heavy Fuel Oil and Light Diesel Blend
Using low price heavy fuel oil (HFO) in high-speed diesel engines is a practical way to reduce running costs. However, most high-speed diesel engines’ fuel systems and combustion systems cannot adapt to HFO. This causes the problem of deterioration of combustion performance. In order to solve this problem, the authors have modified the fuel injection system and combustion system of a high-speed...
